The Grand Lodge of Kazakhstan
The roots of Freemasonry in Kazakhstan date back to 1904, when Alikhan Bokeikhan, the first Kazakh Freemason and Prime Minister, together with other eminent brothers of the Alash and Jadidchilar movements, laid the foundations of Masonic thought in our land.
After decades of prohibition during the Soviet era, Freemasonry was revived in 2015, opening a new era of enlightenment and brotherhood.
On November 12, 2016, in the presence of delegations from the Grand Lodges of Austria, Georgia, Greece, Moldova, and Turkey, the QAZAQ JOĞARY LOJASY — the Grand Lodge of Kazakhstan — was solemnly constituted in Almaty, establishing for the first time in history an independent and sovereign Masonic jurisdiction in Kazakhstan.
Faith in the Great Architect of the Universe stands as a fundamental principle uniting all members of the Grand Lodge of Kazakhstan, regardless of their personal beliefs. Ethics, charity, and enlightenment form the cornerstones of its activity, ensuring equality and preventing any form of discrimination based on religion, nationality, or social status.
The Lodge strictly prohibits political and religious discussions during its meetings, preserving harmony and true fraternal unity among its members. Guided by the Ancient Landmarks, the Grand Lodge of Kazakhstan maintains continuity of Masonic tradition and ritual in line with international standards of Regular Freemasonry.
